The New Sched
Well, the adventure has already started and we haven't even left Whitehorse. It's been a busy couple of days. Given that the protests in Thailand appeared to be increasing, we decided that it would be a good idea to see what our options were. After a total of over 3 hours being on hold with Cathay Pacific, being disconnected once we finally talked to a travel rep, and being told of complicated and expensive options, we decided to cancel our flight to Thailand. Just as we came up with a brilliant plan, and finally started to speak to the travel rep, we heard on the radio,"The government of Thailand has stepped down and the protests are finally over." Since our flight to bangkok would have been delayed by at least 4 days and the flight uncomfortably packed, we stuck with the new plan (the new plan is better anyways). So here it is: We go to Bali and hang out for a month (spending C-mas and New Years on the beach), then to Jakarta to catch a flight to Kota Kinabalu (Malaysian Borneo). Ater a couple of weeks there we go to Kuala Lumpur > Singapore (for Chinese New Year) > Thailand > Cambodia > Vietnam > Laos and back into Thailand (wow that's almost like a Phish set list). This route takes us to Borneo which wasn't previously on our list, so it's better. We also get 2 days in Hong Kong, as opposed to 1 hour. The excitement is really starting to set in now!!!!
